Zaparoan
(Also Sáparoan, Záparo, Zaparoano, Zaparoana) is a endangered language family of Peru and Ecuador with less than 700 speakers.

Zapotec
The Zapotec are an indigenous people of Mexico. Their language group, also called Zapotec, consists of more than fifteen languages.

Zazaki
Is a language spoken by Zazas in eastern Anatolia (Turkey). Is a part of the northwestern group of the Iranian section of the Indo-Iranian branch of the Indo-European family. The US State Department "Background Note" lists Zaza as one of the major languages of Turkey, along with Turkish (official), Kurdish, Armenian, Greek, and Arabic.

Zhuang
Is used by the Zhuang people in the People's Republic of China. Most of them live in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Zhuang, which belongs to the Tai language group, is an official language in that region. However, use of the language is rapidly declining as the Zhuang assimilate to the Han Chinese. Standardized Zhuang is based on the dialect of Wuming County.

Zulu
Is a language of the Zulu people with about 10 million speakers, the vast majority (over 95%) of whom live in South Africa. Zulu is the most widely spoken home language in South Africa (24% of the population) as well as being understood by over 50% of the population. It became one of South Africa's 11 official languages in 1994 at the end of apartheid.

Zuni
(Also Zuñi or Shiwi) is spoken by over 10,000 people in New Mexico and much smaller numbers in parts of Arizona. Its speakers are known as the Zuni.

Zay
Is one of the Ethiopic languages. It is spoken by about 4,880 members of the Zay people on the islands and shores of Lake Zway in southern Ethiopia. It is also known as Zway, or Lak'i/Laqi in the neighboring language Oromo.
